and not even because of me but because ‘I got told’ by some random person that I was wrong and people seem to be reblogging that.
Well I’m so sorry I don’t read comic books.
I read actual books.
…Still waiting for the reblogging to go away.
Hey guys look part two of this person being a MASSIVE DOUCHE
WHAT INDI SAID
If you don’t read comic books, why did you comment on Spider-Man’s canonical relationships? The original reblogger corrected your mistaken post; the least you could do is gracefully admit you made a mistake.
Furthermore your comment about comic books not being ‘real’ (as implied by your comment ‘I read actual books’) is rude. Comics are just as legitimate a medium as books (technically termed as sequential art by Will Eisner) and you see it everywhere. You ever read Charlie Brown? Garfield? Calvin and Hobbes? V for Vendetta? Watchmen? Tintin? These are famous works of art that have successfully used this medium to create and relate stories, as do books and films and other forms of communication.
I would also like to point out that comics are just as real and physical as books.
Now I’m going to reblog this post with someone correcting you

Can anyone tell me where the original post being referenced is? I need a LOL!
She called Spider-Man’s girlfriend Mary Jane “a whore”.
every time somebody is all like “I DON’T READ COMICS I READ ACTUAL BOOKS”
i wonder if they want a fucking medal
most people who read comics read actual books
or devour them in my case
They just also enjoy sequential art. Words are words, no matter how they’re presented. And comics just allow the oppurtunity to enjoy quality artwork while reading a (shorter) story. There is absolutely nothing about the combination of art and story that is inherently childish or inferior. Both are amazing mediums of communication, detail, and education- so wouldn’t they be even better combined?
also yeah, you’ve proved yourself super educated in these disjointed, inexpressive posts that are just you flinging around slurs and “defenses” a third grader could write.
» I read actual books.
Good on you for being literate. This apparently has not served you in good stead, but good on you. You might want to review your choices up to this point and bow out gracefully.
You may also consider broadening your reading, as that may actually help you pick your battles more wisely in the future. Or at the very least improve your attempts at comebacks.
Honest to god, the only time I’ve found real books to have anything “over” comics as far as story telling goes, is when...
